About This Place

Nestled charmingly in a quaint caboose car on Main Street in Clarkdale, Arizona, Violette's Bakery Cafe is much more than a typical bakery—it’s an inviting haven for those who cherish freshly made pastries, thoughtfully crafted coffees, and a warm, sunlit dining atmosphere. Specializing in delightful bakery and patisserie offerings, this cafe perfectly melds the comforting familiarity of American favorites with the exquisite flair of European-inspired sweets and brunch items.

Step inside and you’re greeted by the rich aromas of organic coffee and the inviting warmth of a community-focused eatery. Violette’s is renowned for its vibrant, ever-changing selection of pastries, including decadent caramel pecan cinnamon rolls and delicate strawberry danishes, each bite bursting with fresh, buttery layers and perfectly balanced sweetness. For the midday crowd, the Turkey Cran sandwich stands out—a hearty yet refined option that combines tender turkey with a touch of tart cranberries, perfect for those craving a savory lunch bite.

One cannot overlook their special Pumpkin Crepe, a seasonal indulgence that enchants the palate with the nostalgic spices of autumn wrapped in a light, flaky crepe. Complementing these dishes is an impressive beverage menu featuring espresso-based delights like the Espresso Delice and Mocha, as well as soothing options such as Chai and rich, velvety lattes—in particular, the Vanille latte appeals to those seeking a touch of subtle sweetness with their coffee.

The dining experience at Violette’s Bakery Cafe is as much about the setting as it is the food. Outdoor bistro tables surround the caboose, soaking in warm sunlight and framing gentle valley views that transform every meal into a cherished moment. Patrons often mention the delightful warmth of the terrace, even on crisp winter days, making it a perfect spot for lingering over breakfast or brunch. The friendly, welcoming staff—who consistently go above and beyond, as evidenced by stories of baristas reopening the cafe to make just one last iced latte—injects a genuine warmth that turns visitors into lifelong fans.

What truly makes Violette’s stand out is the palpable feeling that every item is crafted with love and care, reflecting a deep passion for quality and flavor. Frequent guests rave about standout items such as the pumpkin waffle, fruit tarts bursting with fresh juices, and savory quiches that marry buttery crusts with rich, flavorful fillings. Whether you’re savoring a morning espresso or sharing a leisurely lunch watching the sun illuminate the Verde Valley, Violette’s Bakery Cafe is more than a stop—it’s a heartfelt experience that invites you to pause, enjoy, and return.

This is a fun place to grab a bite of breakfast or brunch, or just a pastry or other food item because you want something freshly made and delicious. It is set up in the cutest little caboose car, and I live all the bistro tables set up outside. We ordered a caramel pecan cinnamon roll and a strawberry danish. And we sat outside at one of the tables and enjoyed the weather and the friendly people.

This place has always been awesome, but today was over the top. I arrived a few minutes after closing and the barista reopened the shop and made us iced lattes and plated up a blueberry crumble (delicious). What a kind gesture for what is now a customer for life…

Great views! Delicious breakfast, brunch and lunch. The atmosphere is absolutely fantastic. My absolute favorite spot in the Verde Valley and Sedona area. The staff is super friendly and kind. The terrace is facing the sun and even on a cloudy day in winter - it feels nice and warm to sit outside. There's also a covered area. Every day there are different pastries (European and American). My only wish is that they were open 24/7 so i can pick up a little cake when i want one:)

Super friendly staff serving really delicious food! Love the quiche, the pumpkin waffle (oh my goodness! what a taste sensation!!) and the amazingly tasty fruit tart! Great little place for a yummy meal. You can stay there to enjoy your meal seated at one of their outdoor tables or even consider walking to nearby benches situated to look out over the valley towards Jerome. Very lovely! UPDATE: +JMJ. Wednesday, 13 July 2022 Arrived this morning after 9 am and found them to be very busy with many of the tables (outdoor) full and a line of customers. This is such a blessing for the owner, Amber. She prepares phenomenal pastries and offers French cuisine (Croque Monsuier and Madame) which I have yet to try but am hopeful to do in the future. This morning's yummy pastries ordered were 2 scones and one chocolate croissant. The pecan and brown sugar scone is the yummiest pastry I have ever eaten (even better than what I have eaten during a visit to the UK!) Buttery sweetness is melt in your mouth wonderful! Also, during this visit, I could hear what sounded like 1920s or 1930s music. Love it! Though I am not a crowd person, I will have to subdue my fears for another visit. If ever in old town Clarkdale, stop in for an amazing culinary experience. Blessings and Bon Appétit! UPDATE: Wednesday 6 November 2024 Stopped to purchase pastries and a sandwich. Great service by ladies, very friendly. And, my sandwich was DELICIOUS! Lastly, the almond croissant was amazing! Surely, these will be served in the Heavenly Banquet!

I cannot say enough good things about this place! The ladies that work here & the wonderful, sweet chef who creates the recipes & majority of the food - all these ladies are incredibly kind & lovely, so friendly & warm. The food here is the true essence of tasting love in your food!! The food itself is impeccable, flavorful, unique & the service is always speedy. Hands down, my favorite brunch spot in the Valley. So grateful it exists!! My favorite date spot for my husband and I. ALSO, one of the rare food spots in the whole Verde with a 4.9 rating, that alone tells you how amazing this gem is. Should be 5+ stars!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Violette's Bakery sells a large variety of delicious baked goods out of an old train cart. The service was excellent and the baked goods were to die for. I tried several different items and they were all some of the best tasting baked goods I've ever had. 10/10 would recommend if visiting Clarkedale AZ.

They have the best quiches (only place better than my sister's) and what my spouse lives to see when we come. I come crashing praline croissant braid -- until today. They convinced me to try the blueberry filled croissant. Wow, I've rarely liked filled pastries, but this was an experience. Real Blueberries, natural sweetness and a touch more but just barely. The texture is incredible. And we've tried the Citron tart and that too was amazing. Even the meringue, which I usually find too sweet. Cute environment. Dog friendly.
